The corridor with its timber screen is the space that shows the result best: a continuous surface several metres long where any variation in tone or texture would have been obvious under the raking light between the slats.

Proximity to the ocean drove the specification: salt attacks exterior finishes here from the first year, so systems with higher resistance to ambient humidity were prioritised.
